Port Labs Launches Fatigue Testing Service for Medical Devices

Medical Device companies are required to demonstrate their product performance before being approved for use in patients. One of these performance requirements is proving the durability of a product over its declared lifecycle. This is generally done with accelerated lifecycle fatigue testing.

Our engineering team, led by Principal Engineer Kyle Valiton, builds custom lifecycle fatigue testers to suit the needs of medical device companies. These testers simulate the conditions of the device when implanted or attached to a patient. Our fatigue testers perform rapid cycling dozens or hundreds of times faster than expected normal use, so companies can quickly assess long-term performance of their devices.

Our business model is to scale with our customer. Our systems can easily be added or reduced to manage demand from early Phase 1 Feasibility to full sample size Design Verification testing.
— Kyle Valiton

The systems themselves are built and installed to the client companies’ preference, and hosted for the customer in our facilities. Customers who need equipment on their own premises can contract for additional remote support, or elect to receive training for their own staff to operate and evaluate results.

If your company is in need of rapid fatigue testing to support development of your devices, please contact us. We’re here to help you on your journey to successful regulatory approval.
